Sevillanas
class.
An hour and a half in a real rehearsal studio learning sevillanas from scratch — with an instructor, footwork and clapping. You arrive knowing nothing; you leave dancing a full verse.
Arms up · no embarrassment.Without knowing how to dance.
Dancing.
It is not a show to watch from a chair. It is a real class, in a rehearsal studio, with a teacher who has danced since childhood and the patience to teach you.
You arrive at a spacious, comfortable studio in the Sants neighbourhood. No tourist clichés — this is where the groups who dance at the Feria de Abril actually rehearse. The instructor welcomes you, puts the music on and within five minutes you're moving your arms without thinking about who's watching.
No prior experience needed, no partner required. Sevillanas have four verses and they all share the same structure — which is why you pick them up faster than you'd expect. First the rhythm with clapping, then the arms, and finally the feet, no rush.
We go step by step, with clear explanations and a pace adapted to the group. The goal is for you to enjoy yourself from the very first minute — coordination, connection with the music and lots of energy. It's easily the activity people talk about most at dinner.
By the end of the hour and a half you dance a full verse from start to finish, with music and clapping from everyone. You won't leave a professional — but you'll leave knowing what it genuinely feels like to dance something from the south of Spain.
